June Update
God
is faithful! When we move forward in obedience to God, he provides.
Seth and Samol (a Cambodian couple in our team) has seen it in their
steps of starting a Children's Community Center in Takeo province.
This will serve several villages with teaching for children, education
about hygiene, importance of clean water, family supporting and much
more. The lot of land is now purchased and the next step is to build
a wall now when the land is filled up with soil.
Pray for more funding as they are taking steps forward. God has been guiding their steps even if the waiting has been long and we can only say: May everything happen in God's timing. This is His work and ministry, all glory to him!
It is signed!!!
Yes, finally we got the Children at Risk project officially recognized by the government. The signing ceremony was a very positive experience (unexpectedly!). The Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MSAVY) was very open, thanked us for this initiative and expressed his hope of working together for the better of Cambodia. It was a joy to see the passion he has for his work. Virginia had a great thank-you speech from UofN to MSAVY. Now it will be easier in the contacts with officials to get allowance both in Phnom Penh, The new land and in Takeo. We have already been in contact with the village chief in Takeo and the new land and they are both positive to what we are doing.
Prayer Points:
1. Pray for the people and children in Takeo Village that they will
discover Jesus' love and find a new life.
2. Pray that God’s vision of the Children's Centre to come to
pass. We need the right skilled staff, planning of the construction
and the necessary finances.
3. Pray for volunteer staffs to work with us with a heart for Children
4. Personal finances: we need $ 500 a month and are looking for 10
people who can give $ 50 per-month.
5. Funds to purchase the land in Takeo village for the Children’s
Community Center. (We needed about $ 55,000 more )
